Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between organic, mineral and hybrid PMU pigments?
Organic pigments use carbon-based colourants and give bright, clean shades that heal soft. Mineral (inorganic) pigments are based on iron oxides and other minerals: they are warmer and more stable, so they are less likely to turn grey or blue over time. Hybrid pigments combine both for bright colour with predictable healing.
Can I mix pigments from different brands?
It is best to mix shades within the same brand and line. Every manufacturer uses its own base and carrier liquid, so mixing across brands can change how the colour heals. To adjust a shade, use a corrector or a thinner that is compatible with your pigment.
How long can I use a pigment after opening?
Check the period-after-opening symbol (for example 12M) and the expiry date on the bottle. Close the bottle right after use, store it at room temperature away from direct sunlight, and never pour unused pigment back into the bottle.
